A Farm with History
Das Schmiedgut is an old farmhouse with a forge, which likely gave the farm its name. The Gröhs family has lovingly restored and revitalized the old buildings and the forge until 2021. Like in the past, vegetables, berries, and fruit are cultivated around the Schmiedgut. There’s always something to do here.
… Reinterpreted
In 1788, Johann Hofer renovated the main house, as evidenced by the engraving on the old beam in the kitchen. This historic beam has been preserved, and the Schmiedgut has been contemporarily rebuilt around it. The historical farmhouse now features two generously designed apartments, Dirndlpracht and Platzhirsch, inviting you to relax. Tiled stoves, original wooden walls, and typical Ausseer verandas blend with luxurious living culture.
The old barn, the "Ausziehhäusl," the underground cellar, and the old forge have also been revitalized. The old barn invites awe with its cozy couch offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The romantic Ausziehhäusl is intended for guests who wish to share the luxury of the holiday complex but prefer a smaller, cozier space.
In the midst of the old orchard, two new houses—Wald & Wiese and Zirbenwipfel—have been created, offering spectacular views through large glass windows. Here, exquisite modern architecture meets traditional Ausseer style.
