What we love about Traunkirchen
We love the picturesque village square at the boat landing, the view of the Johannesberg with its chapel, and especially the local cuisine!
Under the motto "Upper Austria invites you to the table," you can find delicious regional culinary highlights throughout Upper Austria, and in the spring, the Felix Wirtshaus Festival on Lake Traunsee—a must for gourmets. And of course, a dinner at the renowned Bootshaus, the restaurant by Lake Traunsee, is a must.
On hiking days, you can conquer the summit of the small Sonnstein or visit the Hochsteinalm. A legendary stop is at Gasthaus Karbach, best reached by electric boat for a snack.
You can discover beauty in the baroque parish church, and for shopping, there is the local "Greisslerei" store.
